                 available from the host ftp.cs.rochester.edu (user
                 anonymous, password your_name), in the directory
                 pub/papers (in subdirectories ai, robotics, systems,
                 and theory). Most files are in compressed PostScript
                 format. (Don't forget the FTP BINARY mode when
                 retrieving compressed files!) \par The directory also
                 contains a list of all the technical reports of the
                 Department that indicates which TRs have been archived,
                 plus complete publication lists (journal articles,
                 etc.) by academic year, beginning with 89-90. (Many of
                 the publications other than TRs are not archived in the
                 ftp directory.) \par Paper copies of TRs can be ordered
                 by mail to TR Secretary, Computer Science Dept., 734
                 Computer Studies Bldg., University of Rochester,
                 Rochester, NY, 14627-0226. Orders should be accompanied
                 by a check payable to the University of Rochester (in
                 US dollars). Fees are waived for libraries in
                 non-profit, educational institutions and for
                 departments with which we have exchange agreements.
                 (TRs can also be ordered by email to
                 tr@cs.rochester.edu; an invoice will be sent with the
                 reports.) Questions can be directed to

                 the finger command to determine login names (i.e.,
