                 Volume 9, Number 1 in January 1985, as the continuation
                 of the older bimonthly journal Computer Networks (CODEN
                 CNETDP, ISSN 0376-5075, from Volume 1, Number 1, June
                 1976 to Volume 8, Number 5--6, December 1984). \par
                 Publication ceased in December 1998 when the journal
                 was again renamed to Computer Networks (Amsterdam,
                 Netherlands: 1999) (CODEN none, ISSN 1389-1286), from
                 Volume 31, Number 1--2, 14 January 1999 to date. \par
                 Those other two journals are covered in companion
                 decade-specific bibliographies, compnet1970.bib,
                 compnet1980.bib, compnetamsterdam1990.bib, .... \par
                 The journal appeared ten times a year in 1985, and has
                 gradually increased to twenty-four times a year in
                 1998, with multiple volumes per year. It is unusual in
                 that multiple issue numbers frequently appear in a
                 single physical issue, and volumes can span year

                 journal subscription with username and password. \par
                 The initial draft of this bibliography was constructed
                 primarily from the OCLC Contents1st database.
                 Regrettably, that database does not record final page
                 numbers of journal articles, so there are many page
                 ranges of the form 123--?? in this bibliography. The
                 collection was then augmented with entries from the
                 author's personal bibliography files, and from the very
                 large computer science bibliography collection at the
                 University of Karlsruhe in
                 http://liinwww.ira.uka.de/bibliography/ and
                 ftp://ftp.ira.uka.de/pub/bibliography to which many
                 people of have contributed. Later additions came from
                 the Compendex databases (1980--1999), and from the
